Security in WoW has some very fun and interesting for me to read about. Blizzard uses a rootkit level checker called Warden to detect bots that automate character moves in WoW. The hacker community has responded with tools that monitor warden and shut down the botting program when warden updates.Blizzard defeated this by further obfuscating their updates. Other products employ a rootkit level platform that injects the botting commands directly into the kernel bypassing wardens detection (this product called inner space by lavish software).
